ASSEMBLY CHRONICLES

B. 1990 Joined this Scottish village Assembly, having previously known the godly M brethren for many years.
An excellent Scripture-based Assembly with high standard of worship incorporating an outstanding hymnbook.
Made previous contributions to KM Magazine over the years and now able to engage the editor in spiritual conversation with the view to further articles.
Otherwise excellent spiritual tone of meetings marred by discordant note of innuendo on part of WR.
Spiritual contributions of EB appreciated. Previous fellowship with him and godly father in W.Midlands.
Recognise emerging gift in young CM and encourage.
KM,a truly godly man and gifted elder, passes on in 1993 after a lifetime devoted to the local testimony in this area. Huge loss.
Approached by GM regarding Treasurer role and being"taken into confidence". Accept Treasurer role but decline overseer role due to health limitations.
RD and wife join fellowship from G in 1994.
Tragically, Elizabeth, wife of EB passes on at early age in 1994 leaving two small boys.
EB leaves area in 1995, vacating tenancy of Hall accommodation.
We take over tenancy.
Request assistance of GM to resolve ongoing problem involving the Rs.
Sadly, GM, a spiritual man and elder, passes on in 1997 and thus ends an era of godly oversight spanning many years.
Disturbing carnal reaction of WR and young men to comment in Bible Reading regarding spiritual nature of the faith.
Shortly after unpleasant meeting with WR and RD decide to cease attending midweek meeting to devote time to writing.
Sniping and innuendo by WR increases in absence of GM restraining influence.
Visit WB to discuss this problem.
Exercised to commence a written ministry and discuss with fulltime servant.Initial articles prepared with view to publication.
Article highlighting scriptural difference between natural and spiritual conditions published in A.T. Magazine in 1998.
Receive letter from Editor stating WR has contacted to state WL "not in full fellowship", calling into question validity of article.
Only faintly surprised by this underhand tactic,no doubt designed to undermine the article with the notion of partial fellowship.
There is of course no such thing as partial fellowship. One is either in fellowship or not.
This carnal intervention is then compounded by issuing us a glowing letter of commendation for a vacation.
Copy of this confirmation of 'full fellowship' forwarded to the editor.
Decided we would henceforth no longer accept letters from these men. How the godly KM and GM are missed.
Subsequently called to meeting about A.T. article and threatened with exclusion if further articles written.
This 'muzzling' attempt rejected.
The article meanwhile generates widespread interest.
Meantime, articles accepted for publication in BM are mysteriously withdrawn after having been mentioned in conversation with RD. one Sunday afternoon. Hmmm.
Invited to acknowledge difference between natural and spiritual gifts, WR creates scene by railing against the principle involved; how NOT to behave in house of God!! His strange aversion to the obvious is mystifying. Only a modicum of spirituality is required to discern the truth implicit in 'born-again'.
The internet is a medium that bypasses carnal interference so decide to investigate.
In the event the free services of an IT expert are offered and a website is designed.
With invaluable assistance of SL and IT expert, all current WL written ministry is placed on website in 2000.
Resign treasurer work at this point
Writing and managing website now a fulltime work.
The As join the Assembly following closure of G Assembly.
M boys now mainstay and future of Assembly, holding promise of a return to godly oversight.
Leading ministering brother contributes article to website.
WR and RD oppose WL references to Lord's human nature, effectively denying His humanity. Imply that WL alone holds this view.
We read publicly from widely approved publication in 2004, which clearly states the Lord possessed perfect human nature. Clearly,WL not alone in holding this truth.
Incongruously,WR accuses WL of disorderly conduct for reading this affirmation of the truth to the Assembly.
Meetings follow in which WR and RD seek, aggressively, to impose their own view regarding this matter and threaten discipline. Following grotesque conduct in a discussion on these and related issues at Craigview, matters come to a head in early 2005 when a further meeting is requested but we decide against any further discussion with these unruly men and write a joint letter of resignation. This train of events could never have happened under the leadership of KM or GM.
They respond that we are to be excluded but we are no longer there so how can we be excluded!!! informed later that this incongruous formal act took place the following Sunday.
We write to saints to advise that we have resigned due to carnal conduct of leaders.
Longtime spiritual colleague informed that we have resigned and he suggests we approach C Assembly where he has been holding meetings.
Full and frank discussion there but brethren not minded to receive us due to proximity and contrary report received from B leadership. Ref. made to previous problem at S Assembly but they were unaware of doctrinal failures there.
KM and GM aware of S doctrinal problem when receiving us at B. in 1990.
Commence own weekly meetings in house in 2005.
Learn that all Assemblies in area notified we have been excluded.
We write to them advising that we resigned and state why.
In 2004 ingress of water through house roof was reported and Surveyor engaged by Assembly to investigate.
Roof flashing damaged but no action subsequently taken by Assembly landlord despite repeated requests.
Damage to roof timbers and internal wall ensues for 12 months.
To avoid permanent damage we instruct local roofer to effect repair at own considerable expense.
Learn that WR has stated at Ban that we will not be reinstated to the fellowship under any circumstances. This is of course an unscriptural stance to adopt. No surprise there.
Without repentance and a retraction on their part we would not even consider it.
Harassment, verbal abuse and scandalous assertions feature as they seek to dislodge us from the accommodation. Seeking to justify this conduct RD states that "Paul threatened the Corinthians with a stick". Remarkable!! We have legal security of tenure so harassment is unlawful.
Regrettably, a public shouting incident by RD occurs in the garden of Craigview in 2007 in the hearing of contractors and neighbours.
In the best interests of local testimony our Solicitor is directed to send a warning letter requesting that no further approaches are made to WL in the precincts of the Hall.
Shortly after, fortuitous discovery of plan to extend carpark over our garden. Solicitor warns WR that legal action will follow if this proceeds .
Meanwhile, positive references to Lord's human nature appear in Believers Magazine!! Hmmm.
